Harry the Hawk Joins the Flock!
Woof woof!
Every once in a while, someone new joins the Kennel Klub who reminds me that our mission is bigger than dogs, cats, or even pets. It's about bringing together animal lovers from every corner of the world to help Rotary create a future free from polio.
That's why I'm so excited to welcome Harry the Hawk to our Kennel Klub family!
Harry met Rotarian Bruce Solari during a visit to the world-famous Ireland School of Falconry at beautiful Ashford Castle in Ireland. I have to admit... I usually spend more time watching squirrels than hawks, but after hearing Harry's story, I knew he'd make an amazing addition to our Klub.
Harry is sponsored by Bruce Solari, Past President of the Rotary Club of Anaheim, and Johrita Solari, Past Vice President of Rotary International. Bruce and Johrita have devoted countless hours to Rotary and have long been champions of the PolioPlus program, helping protect children around the world from a disease that should exist only in history books.
Harry now joins our growing flock of feathered friends, including Herbert the Hummingbird from Laguna and Hoots the Owl. Together, they remind us that the Kennel Klub truly welcomes every kind of animal—whether they soar through the sky, perch in the treetops, scamper across the yard, or curl up on the couch.
Hawks are known for their extraordinary vision, courage, focus, and determination. Those same qualities have guided Rotary's fight against polio for nearly four decades. Just as a hawk never loses sight of its destination, Rotarians around the world have never lost sight of our goal: ending polio forever.
Every new member of the Kennel Klub helps spread awareness of Rotary's End Polio Now campaign while supporting the PolioPlus program through an annual contribution. Together, we're building a worldwide community of pets and people who believe every child deserves the chance to run, play, and explore life with their best friends—whether those friends have two legs or four.
So please join me in giving Harry a great big Kennel Klub welcome!
Welcome aboard, Harry. May your sharp eyes and soaring spirit continue to inspire us all as we fly together toward a polio-free world.
Woof woof!
