A Milestone Worth Celebrating in the Fight to End Polio

I have some wonderful news to share with my Kennel Klub family.

Mollie’s $30,000 Challenge has officially been reached and exceeded!

When we launched this challenge, I hoped our community of animal lovers and Rotary champions would rally together to support PolioPlus. What happened next exceeded all expectations.

Because of your generosity, determination, and belief in Rotary’s mission, we not only achieved the goal—we surpassed it.

Every donation represented something bigger than a dollar amount. It represented hope. It represented protection for children around the world. And it represented our shared commitment to finishing one of the greatest humanitarian projects in history.

A very special round of applause goes to the generous Rotarians who participated in District 6360's "DisCon at the Carousel."  Through their incredible generosity, more than $204,000 was raised for PolioPlus with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation matching grant. 

The Power of PolioPlus

For more than three decades, Rotary has led the global fight against polio, helping reduce cases by more than 99.9%.

Thanks to the support of PolioPlus donors and partners, millions of children have been protected from a disease that once paralyzed hundreds of thousands every year.

The funds raised through this challenge will continue supporting vaccination campaigns, surveillance efforts, and critical resources needed to reach every child.

And thanks to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation match, every dollar donated goes even further in helping us achieve a polio-free world.

A Community That Delivers

One of my favorite things about the PolioPlus Society Kennel Klub is that we are proof that small actions, taken together, can create extraordinary results.

Our members come from around the world. We represent dozens of breeds, species, and backgrounds. Yet we are united by a simple belief:

No child should ever have to suffer from polio.

Whether you made a donation, encouraged a friend to give, shared a social media post, wore your End Polio Now bandana, or simply helped spread awareness, you played a role in this success.

This achievement belongs to all of us.

A Special Thank You

I want to offer a heartfelt thank you to every donor, supporter, PolioPlus Society member, Kennel Klub member, Rotary leader, and club that participated in the challenge.

Your generosity demonstrates the very best of Rotary’s spirit of service.

You continue to prove that when compassionate people come together around a common purpose, there is no limit to what can be accomplished.

The Journey Isn’t Over

While this milestone is certainly worth celebrating, it is also a reminder that our work continues.

We are closer than ever to ending polio forever.

The finish line is in sight, but reaching it will require continued commitment, continued advocacy, and continued support.

The good news is that our Kennel Klub family has never been stronger.

Together, we have built a community of dedicated people and pets who believe in a future where every child can run, walk, play, and grow up free from the threat of polio.

That future is within reach.
