Sepp the Desert Tortoise Is Ready to Help Rotary Finish the Race to End Polio

The Rotary PolioPlus Society Kennel Klub is delighted to welcome a determined new member with a very special connection to this year’s Rotary International Rose Parade float: Sepp the Desert Tortoise!

Sepp is especially excited to join the Klub because the Rotary float features a tortoise this year—and he is ready to represent his fellow shelled supporters in the fight to end polio.

Although tortoises are not usually known for their speed, Sepp is no ordinary tortoise. He was named after a Tour de France star because, whenever the dog comes around, Sepp races across the yard surprisingly fast! He may carry his home on his back, but he certainly knows how to move when the moment calls for it.

Sepp’s determination is a wonderful reminder of Rotary’s long journey toward a polio-free world. The race has required patience, persistence and an unwavering commitment to keep moving forward—even when the finish line has seemed far away.

Now, with Sepp cheering us on, the Kennel Klub is more determined than ever to help Rotary complete the final stretch.

Every new member, every donation and every conversation about PolioPlus brings us one step closer to the goal. Together, we will stay the course, pick up the pace and finish the race to end polio once and for all.
